Another audiobook is coming!

The time has come to do another audiobook!

My latest title, “Reclaiming Femininity,” has held it’s own in a genre I didn’t expect to do well in. It’s not a typical “women’s studies” book because it focuses on the importance of traditional female roles at home and in society.

It is truly a remarkable work that is ready to reach a broader audience: the audiobook readers.

Life is so quick nowadays that more and more readers are finding it hard to get time to sit and read. But listening while driving, exercising, working, and even doing household chores has become the norm.

It suits my storytelling style since I’ve always had more success with the oral tradition. Sure I love writing my words down, but there’s just something about the sound of a person’s voice as they share thoughts and ideas.

Of course I don’t have the equipment to narrate my own audiobook. I truly wish I did, and maybe someday that will happen, but for now I’ve found some wonderful talent (who probably narrates better than I could anyway) and I cannot wait to share the new audiobook version of my title, “Reclaiming Femininity” with everyone.

It is my first self-published book, and I had some serious misgivings about it. But what I LOVE about the freedom of self-publishing is that if I find a mistake after it goes to print, I can just update and fix it. No having to contact the publisher and fight for a second run edition or anything like that. It was scary at first because I am dyslexic, and I hate even noting that, but I’ve got a good crop of beta readers and an awesome editor!

This will be my second audiobook. Years ago a talented writer (and friend of mine) by the name of George Sirois was just starting his narration journey and offered to record my children’s book, The Golden Rule, for royalty shares. He had narrated a prose poem of mine and did such a wonderful job that I jumped at the opportunity.

I love sharing the human connection however possible and getting my stories out there has been such an amazing journey that I can’t wait to hear the wonderful talent narrate my latest!
