My book, “The Magic of Trees,” is a finalist for the best non-fiction book at the Missouri Writers’ Guild Awards!

I have a love/hate relationship with awards because, although I appreciate the honor, I know there are plenty of talented writers out there who just haven’t been given their shot yet. There is a level of politics involved in the publishing world that I’m not even sure I know much about at this point.

But at the end of the day. I am just grateful that this book was published, praised, and is now a contender for one of my favorite awards.

Some days a writer just needs that extra push to keep going. This couldn’t have come at a better time!
