One Christmas party down, three to go.
This time of year is busy and fun and exhausting and it’s meant to be enjoyed. I have four parties to go to and I’m planning three of them, but my poor husband works an opposite schedule from me and cannot attend any of them.
What’s worse is that his co-workers all voted to skip doing a party this year. He does delivery driving, which is crazy busy this time of year so he needs the morale boost.
Thankfully our Yule celebration is a party alone since we have five kids at home, and we also do New Years up right and he’ll be off work for that.
But it makes me sad to know that he’s got Grinches surrounding him. It makes it more difficult to enjoy everything, so I’ve added all the trimmings at home, and I’m keeping a full supply of cookies baked. haha
This weekend was my Writer’s Guild Christmas party. It was great the kids got to play with balloons and marvel at the endless dessert table, and both my eldest and I won different rounds of Bingo. (Apparently I’ve hit the age where I look forward to playing Bingo.)
I was so happy to come early and help decorate and get every thing together. And even though my four-year-old colored his face in blue marker, the kids were pretty good. They especially love this time of year.

It reminds me of a line from the old Donna Reed Show Christmas Special episode where she says, “It’s a shame we took it from them.”
This time of year is for the young and the young at heart. So instead of over-thinking everything or fussing over the season, I hope we can all remember our inner-child and let the kids have this year’s celebration.
I wish you all a season as festive as the blue marker on my son’s face.

Lovely pictures. Thank you for sharing. . . ❤
It’s always fun to spread the cheer! I hope you’ve had a great season!
