We finally got enough snow for a winter wonderland!! pic.twitter.com/5gado5Ktos
It’s been a couple of years since we’ve had a nice snow in our part of Missouri. There’s always a storm coming, but some swing north or south, or dissipate by the time they reach us.
Weather predictions here are about as accurate as fortune cookies–when taken lightly, they’re somewhat helpful, but they’re never spot on.
So I was annoyed when I woke up and could still see grass yesterday. It was ridiculous that businesses closed the night before, or even shut down for the day. Things didn’t really get really snowy until later, but there was enough to play and sled a bit.

Then, last night, finally brought us the covering I was hoping for. Snow makes us all children again (at least the fun people). It slows us down and reminds us to enjoy the little things.

I love making snow men, but my kids have also helped me make snow dogs, snow ladies, a snow loch ness monster, and even a snow coffin (don’t ask). So it felt only right to make a snow chicken.

Our chickens are cold and sensitive and doing just fine. They weathered the storm like pros, but they’re our feathery babies so we’ve been giving them extra yummies. I also make a little snow chicken on the bench in their run. Although my husband says it looks more like a duck.

I figure chickens and ducks are cool so whatever works. haha

(And just look at their little chicken tracks!)
I hope everyone finds their inner child today and does something fun, snow or none. It’s just good for the soul!
