If only environmentalism were actually focused on the environment.
I care deeply about this planet and all of its creatures. It’s why I tend my own piece of land, plant trees, and have backyard chickens. I also clear away brush and dead wood to prevent natural and unnatural fire hazards, because it’s common sense.
Before the Maui wildfires, the local leadership was repeatedly warned to clean up the masses of brush that had been building up for years to prevent a catastrophe. Like most governments, they did nothing and we all know what happened in 2023. The island was decimated by powerful wildfires.
In 2018, President Trump was serving his first term and stood before wildfire destruction in California with Governor Gavin Newsome. He noted the need to clean up brush and fire hazards in the state forests.
But that wasn’t done, and now southern California is experiencing mass wildfires.
Wildfires are not uncommon. They are very often natural and help weed out sick or weak trees to grow stronger forests. But we have to find a balance between letting nature take its course and protecting people from massive fires. We also need to prosecute eco-terrorists who purposefully start fires to further political agendas to the fullest extent of the law and also punish people who stupidly cause them through careless accidents.
I only lived in Cali for a short while, but it was long enough to make me appreciate my home state. The Missouri Department of Conservation hosts controlled burns and other forest cleaning measures to decrease wildfire damage.
In addition, most property owners in Missouri believe in self-reliance so, without being told by a nanny state official, plenty of us keep our land properly cleared.

If only the leaders of California would do the same in the forests they "manage," wildfires would not have nearly as much fuel as they do now.
Yes, Missouri has a different landscape and ecosystem, but California leadership is more focused on identity politics than actual governance, and they haven’t proven to be much help when it comes to forest management, so I wonder if an outside organization–a charitable volunteer effort–could be formed to clean up the area’s forests once a year (at the very least). This will NOT stop all wildfires but it can easily prevent major wildfire damage in subdivisions.
Hell, I’d travel to participate in brush clearing.
But that doesn’t seem to be the goal of California leadership. They seem to enjoy the destruction so they cans say: Look, it’s climate change! Now pay us more taxes!!
I don’t know how paying a corrupt body of leadership will fix any environmental issues, other than the climate of their wallets.
But I do know that thousands of people were forced to flee their homes. Some have died, and insurance companies are not going to be charitable, nor will FEMA.
When I wrote my first RSBN article yesterday, I chose to highlight the previous warnings to clear the brush from forests because it is a simple act that can make a HUGE difference. It is also less costly (and cleaner) than flying in planes full of water or fighting with bureaucratic insurance companies.
After you read it, consider real action. Not “activism” but good old-fashioned American action.
If the government (which is supposed to be By the People, and for The People) does not do its job, it is up to US. We need to find and utilize tangible solutions instead of just blaming others, or screaming “Climate change!”

Ha ha ha, Book of Revelations is coming too life, Trumps Racist and corruption is alive and well
