This is a HUGE issue for everyone involved. The electric company says they need more money to cover upgrades they’ve already been putting in place while the people say they cannot afford the proposed 15% utility increase.
I want to know (from anyone anywhere):
How many of you are happy with your utility services (reliability etc.)?
How many of you only have one service provider option for each utility?
And how many of you can afford a 15% rate increase?
I attended the public hearing yesterday and it was emotional, to say the least. Everyone has a story. I’m gonna do my best to get it all out, and I don’t want to say what I personally think about the increase since I’m reporting on it, but let’s just say, after the hearing, I went down to the river to watch the ice flow.
