What’s your favorite part of Spring?

Blessed Ostara/Happy Spring!

My house has been bustling a bit more than usual, and our celebration was no different. There were eggs to die, chickens to play with, and meditations to be done.

Ostara is our Easter, or Easter is other people’s Ostara, I don’t care how you view it. Some years they’re quite close, but this year–since Spring is always around the same time, and Easter falls, usually, on the first Sunday after the first full moon after the first day of Spring (or something like that)–they’re pretty far apart.

During each ritual, we always go around the table while we feast and everyone says what their favorite part of the new season is, or what they’re looking forward to, really.

The kids always have silly stuff to say, and my husband likes joking around with them, especially since he hates allergy season. Yet there is always something to enjoy and giggle about.

This year I’m happy to sit on my bench in the chicken run and enjoy the sunshine. It’s a simple enough joy and simple joys are what everyone deserves. They make the world a better place. Especially when you work hard to obtain and maintain them.

The world is full of special little gifts this time of year. Count them up and never forget them. It’s a great time to be alive!
