Government healthcare is paid for by American citizens. We cannot afford to pay for the world.
I, like most every America First supporters, believe in legal immigration. I love immigrants. I grew up around Hindus. My first best friend was a Chinese immigrant whose parents were trying to learn English. They came here to assimilate and enjoy a better life than Communist China could offer. I dated a Somali refugee in high school. It didn’t work out, but he was a nice guy, very respectful and proud to be an American. He joined the ROTC.
When I hear “progressives” screaming about open borders and the need to give “free healthcare” to everyone, I understand the sentiment, but it’s childish. I wish everyone could have everything, but I also know that it is through hard work and self-reliance that people grow and evolve, so maybe I really don’t.
I definitely do not support allowing just anyone who walks across the border to take advantage of programs that were created for American taxpayers. I can’t really blame them, I blame the ridiculous politicians, judges, lawyers, police officers, doctors, teachers, and everyone else who allows illegal immigrants to abuse American programs paid for and made for American citizens.
I personally, would love to opt out of all government programs and not have a single dollar of mine paid into these massive over-bloated options that have become so easily abused we’re bleeding money. I have qualified for government assistance in the past and refused to use it. I currently pay my medical bills out of pocket because it’s cheaper, and I rarely utilize modern medicine (really just for the kids, like when my red head broke his leg).
But it’s absurd to me that any American taxpayer can honestly advocate for the abuse of our healthcare programs by illegal immigrants. And that is what it is. We have a legal application process. One that most-likely should be reformed, but pretending as if everyone pouring into this nation is some dying refugee is insulting to the people coming here. It’s the worst virtue signal that is just incredibly false.
So I’m proud that my Senator stood behind the One Big Beautiful Bill and its provision to remove illegal immigrants from Medicaid benefits. They never should have been allowed to use them in the first place.
