More Nature Awesomeness

My latest article, “Lessons in the Rocks,” gave me a chance to talk about one of my favorite trips to one of my favorite places for Missouri Conservationist magazine.

I am incredibly thrilled to share this piece. It was one of those perfect day hikes with the kids. And I somehow took one of the best pictures I’ve ever captured on the worst cell phone camera I’ve ever had. The lighting just loved the moment, and I was so grateful for that.

It is the picture of the Missouri millepede (featured in this article) that let me know I could maybe delve into photography. I’ve always liked pretending to be a photographer, but there is something about sharing photos with writing that I really love, and I figured if I can take a good clean shot with such an awful camera on such a horrid phone (which has long since died), then maybe I can do the photography thing too.

The jury is still out on that, but I’m getting more and more photography credits to my name, so there’s some encouragement there.

Take a look at my latest and let me know what you think. Did the words say more than the pictures, or did the pictures say more than the words?
