I’ve been wanting to carve out and paint some winter birds for our Yule decorations for a few years now. I was afraid to mess them up, but I went for it this year since we had the extra wood and I’m so glad I did.

Designing and cutting them out was easier than I expected.

The box took a little extra oomph (measuring and planning), but I was so happy that it fit together. haha

And I love painting.

The blue jay took a little extra work, but isn’t he handsome?

And now these happy winter birds are sharing the joys of the season with everyone who passes by.
