Dogs are as American as apple pie and the 4th of July.
But certain people of a certain persuasion don’t believe so.
Palestinian “activist” Nerdeen Kiswani backtracked and said she was joking after receiving serious backlash for publicly stating that dogs are “unclean” and shouldn’t be allowed as indoor pets. She wants to abuse her American freedoms to cry about bloodthirsty fights in the Middle East, but then oppose our freedom to keep dogs in our home?
Oh, it was just a joke. Muslims aren’t taking over the UK and Ireland and demanding that dog free spaces be created and that bacon be banned…. oh wait, that is exactly what’s happening. Americans have every right to believe the “it was just a joke” cover was a quick PR move to keep whatever insane support she has.
I don’t care what any Muslim or anyone else says. My dog is family. He guards my children and my chickens. He sleeps at the foot of my son’s bed when he’s sad, but he somehow knows when my teenager needs him at the foot of her bed.
I’m so proud that Congressman Randy Fine jumped on the issue and told off Kiswani. THAT’s the kind of leadership we need. THAT’s why men like him and Donald Trump got elected. Because we need fighters. We’ve seen so much of our culture eroded by complacent leaders. Apathy is everywhere, and it is killing us.
But dogs are here to stay. That is a fact that can unite nearly every American. Dogs came over on the Mayflower. They helped explorers move west, fought in World Wars, and have lived at the White House.
We can play the “it was just a joke” game too. Anyone who was offended by Rep. Fine and all of the dog lovers who clapped back can just take it as a joke.
