We hear terms like diversity, equality, and #OwnVoices thrown around a lot. We hear them so much we get lost in the shuffle. Minorities want more inclusion but a lot don’t want to be misrepresented either so the pressure builds on authors and creators to do it right… or else.
I don’t really care if people screw up writing a dyslexic, bisexual, or bipolar person. (Of which I am all 3) Authors are human. They are not Gods. BUT there is one specific trope that kind of irks me when it is overdone: The evil witch.
Yeah yeah, so I’m a Pagan. Maybe that gives me a bit of a soft spot, or maybe, just maybe I don’t like it when one ridiculous story keeps shitting on me and others who walk a similar path.
