Stories like these are so frustrating. I really wish the LGBTQ+ community would condemn these offenders and distance themselves from them instead of screaming “transphobic” the second a woman reports an incident. We have movements like #MeToo and #BelieveAllWomen being hailed by everyone, but they’re really just hashtags because when a woman comes forward to report misconduct against someone in the LGBTQ+ community they are harassed, bullied, censored, and even sometimes assaulted.
It’s a harsh truth that allowing people with a penis into women’s spaces leaves women vulnerable to preventable sexual assault. Because now anyone who says they’re a woman is treated as such in some areas. So any sex offender can just claim that they are trans and walk into women’s-only places and assault them.
It’s a health hazard and a safety hazard.
No one wants to talk about it. It is frustrating for both natural-born women and transwomen.
I can’t imagine how it must feel to not feel welcome in male or female spaces, but like I have always stated, why can’t there be 3? Why not a men’s locker room, women’s locker room, and one for anyone who doesn’t identify with their biology?
At this point I’m so tired of these issues being mishandled and swept under the rug that I’m ready to say: Here, take it! To all the transwomen. Let them have “women’s rooms” just so long as we can create a 3rd penis-free area.
I don’t even care about the terminology. I’ve been sexually assaulted, my mother was raped when she was a virgin. My daughter is terrified of being raped in a bathroom. These are real issues that everyday women face and no matter how many hashtags people create to virtue signal and feel like they’re a part of history, unless we do something to protect and preserve the rights of women who were born women we are still at a disadvantage.
