I have no idea who originally posted this amazing break-down, but it has helped me get acceptances.
Every publisher seems to have their own list of formatting and criteria for submitting a manuscript or story. It makes sense. The lazy writers who don’t care enough to follow the simplest rules are weeded out. It must make the selection process easier.
But most publishers ask for a synopsis, or at least a brief description. This is my go to guide.
You can extend it to be pages instead of paragraphs if a publisher asks for more detail and requires a true synopsis. (This seems more like a guide for writing a blurb) Or you can shorten it down to sentences if asked to write a more brief description.
Sometimes it’s just nice to have some kind of guide, and this has been more than kind to me.
