I love getting on the road to engage more readers. Traveling to other cities is the best way to promote books while also gaining more experiences and information to create new material.
I recently read a post by an editor who said he hated stories about writers because writers’ lives are extremely dull. I don’t know what he does in his free time, but I am always traveling, adventuring, and THEN writing. My stories come from the sense of wonder that continues to expand as I enjoy new places, meet new people, and do new things.
Maybe this is why my stories are so unique. I never lack originality. For years I have worked very hard to hone my technical skills and everything is finally coming together.
This is reinforced at every book signing. I traveled to Kansas City this time and made a profit. Not just paid off my table, gas, and food, but a profit after deducting that. It’s a great feeling to share your work, it’s downright enchanting to be able to profit from sharing it.
The people in KC were so sweet and I even had a couple of readers travel in from out of town to come get a signed copy f my children’s book. That kind of encouragement is exactly what writers need. It’s a long road from working a story to publishing, and beyond that the possibilities are endless.
Thank you to everyone who has supported me! I’ll be hitting the road again this weekend. I’ll be signing books this Sunday September 18th from 11am-6pm at:
