The myth that women can just freeze their eggs and work through their most fertile years, then have a happy family without any issues has caught on. Since 2014 Big tech companies like FB and Google have paid for this option as a way to lock females into jobs without having to worry about maternity leave, the costs of health care, child care, and paid family leave.
And sadly, many working women don’t know the odds. Healthy viable eggs only have a success rate of 2%-12% in women 38 and younger. While women are mainly using egg freezing to wait until they are in their 40s, their success rates are even lower.
But this benefits massive corporations because the more childless workers they have, the less money the need to shell out and the more control they gain.
