What a week. I swore I wasn’t going to have my baby until March, but she decided to come early Monday morning. Yep, 2 days after the release of my latest book.
So I’ve been in mommy mode having a great time getting to know my little one and sharing the love with my older kids and my husband. I’m writing with my baby in my arms right now just so full of joy. Having another successful homebirth makes me feel like a pro.

I mean, by the 5th kid I could probably deliver a few babies myself. This last adventure was relatively quick, and though it was painful, everything went swimmingly.
It’s strange how when you’re giving birth time stops, but as soon as it’s over you look back and it went by so quickly.
I get a lot of questions and surprised looks when people find out all my children were born at home, naturally, and I’ve been kicking around the idea of writing a comedy book about these experiences–because it is funny how something so natural has become so medically relegated in modern times. I love joking about the details. So we’ll see where that leads.
For now, I wish everyone all the peace and serenity I feel as I type this!
Oh, you are so brave. And writing with a baby in your arm must be very inspiring.
If youโre on your 5th youโre a pro! I like your idea for another book.
๐ She didn’t want to risk being a leap year baby; nothing worse, as far as birthdays are concerned, than being born on 29/2…she got a bit confused; because this isn’t a leap year
