There just something about spreading paint on canvas.
I started painting animals in my teens for fun and found it incredibly relaxing. I’m not super great at drawing or capturing an image the way I want to, but when I need my brain to chill out, painting gives me a clean slate.
When I became a mother, I enjoyed creating more animal scenes for my kids.

It’s a great way to decorate a nursery, and an irreplaceable gift.

I get paranoid about unnatural chemicals on my skin while I’m pregnant and breastfeeding so I hadn’t painted in a while. But I wanted to make something special for my youngest.

She’s sweet and caring and definitely a mama’s girl. I’ve always had a connection with deer and I wanted to share that with her. Even though I’m a huge advocate for hunter’s rights and I love venison, I hold a great respect for these sensitive creatures.

Getting this one just right was something I really hope for, and though I’m no Da Vinci, I’m pretty happy with how it turned out.
