The awesome Shannon Noel Bradey tagged me to do this and I am so glad she did!
Find a book on your shelves for each of your intials
(Jane Russell is my fav classic Hollywood actress)
(I honestly couldn’t find a book that starts with M on my shelves. haha Now I have to write one)
(One of my absolute favs)
Count your age along your bookshelf. What book did you land on?
I’m rocking 32, and I landed on A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens. My favorite of his works.
Find a book you’ve read that takes place in your city or state.
St. Louis is not the most popular city right now, so I’m reminded of this book. It embodies the true spirit of my city and the awesome people who live here and love our diversity.
Find a book that represents a destination you would love to travel to.
I’m not crazy enough to care about going to boring old Mars as we know it now. I want to travel to Burroughs’s Barsoom.
Find a book cover in your favorite color.
I love all colors and claim rainbow as my fav color (if it counts). This doesn’t have all of them, but covers most. haha
Which book do you have the fondest memories of?
Matilda by Rhold Dohl. I read that book everywhere. I acted it out. I even used the opening as a monologue to get a part in a school play in the 8th grade.
Which book did you have the most difficulty reading?
Night by Elie Wiesel. My super powers of empathy made it hurt to read it. It was the only time I did poorly in English class because I just couldn’t fill out reports about it.
Which book in your TBR pile will you the biggest sense of accomplishment when you finish reading it?
House of leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski. It has the story within the story and then so many appendices and footnotes. The footnotes have footnotes at times. It’s a head trip. But it’s brilliant.
Do you have a special place at home for reading?
No. I like to read all over. The bed, the tree house, the tub, in the closet. wherever I can.
When do you usually do your reading?
Before bed. But every once in a while when my kids are occupied I get a little glorious time in the middle of the day.
What do you use for bookmarks?
I’m so bad, I have a bunch of bookmarks littered in the hidden worlds of my house. They’re like missing socks. I’ve been using receipts and odd bits of scratch paper in their absence. haha
If any of my answers raise some questions, feel free to ask away in the comments. This has been a pleasure. Thanks so much Shannon.
And of course, now I think Dave A. Koster, Dan Atatorre, and Ryan Lanz should answer these bad boys. So much fun!

Woo! I’m glad you liked the survey. 🙂 House of Leaves is on my to-read. I didn’t realize it was so, uh, layered. I’m even more intrigued now…
Haha it’s a head trip
