I woke up to the best present a writer can get, another 5 star review for my children’s book, The Golden Rule! But this isn’t just ANY awesome review, it’s #20.
I’m not afraid to admit that I have never received 20 reviews (good or bad) for any of my work on amazon…until today!
I’m not trying to toot my own horn too much. What makes this awesome is that 20 reviews on amazon offers more. It unlocks certain benefits.
At 20 reviews an author’s material becomes more visible in searches. Parents and loved ones looking for children’s books will see mine easier now. It is more common in suggested books during searches and also has that stamp of approval from enough readers that one can get a feel for the true nature of the content.
Every milestone matters to an author. I remember when 8 reviews were difficult to get. The publishing world is harder than ever. The market is flooded and readers have to be more careful as to what they purchase. The flip side is that as my fan base grows, I always do my best to offer them what they want.
These reviews help me to grow as an artist. Feedback is always important. I love to write but I have no interest in publishing unless I find that the stories I produce are worth reading.
I’ll never forget the feeling of receiving that first 5 star review, or even my lowest rating. The Golden Rule has only 4 and 5 stars and I feel honored that this little book means so much to so many people.

One of my previous books dipped as low as 3 stars on amazon and received a 2 star review from someone who admitted that they didn’t like the genre and omitted their opinion from amazon.
These details are important. I feel it’s best to remind other writers and my readers that most of us all have our struggles. No matter how much I have to celebrate, there are always rejections and concerns tugging at the back of my brain. The pressure is released by these successes.
It also comes shortly after a long time reader send me another letter praising my work and my attitude. The people who have supported me from the very beginning will never know how grateful I am to them. Every reader counts. Every review matters. I am lucky to be where I am right now and I want to say thanks!
My readers are the best readers
