It’s Thanksgiving season in my house. We like to celebrate every season in its turn, but I had to write this article just to annoy my 13-year-old. She is always joking about how Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas” is always waiting to terrify her with too-early Christmas cheer on Nov 1st haha
And someday we’re going to film a short where she comes home to find the house empty, but “All I want for Christmas” is playing in the living room.
She’ll turn it off and go to the bathroom to hear it playing from the shower. The she’ll run to her bedroom to hear it coming from her closet. She’ll slowly step forward, reach for the door handle, and pull it open.
Deep inside the darkness of her closet, Mariah Carey will pop out singing “All I Want for Christmas.”
My too-cool-teenager will run away screaming in terror! haha
It’s all in good fun. I love Mariah Carey and her enthusiastic spirit. I also love her classic Christmas song especially because when my sister was struggling with infertility that song took on new meaning. All she wanted was to have a baby, and now she has two.
So Happy Thanksgiving, Blessed Yule, Happy Hanukkah, Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and be prepared for the New Year with all the trimmings.
