American First Magazine

The publishing world is weird. It’s filled with propaganda and political wars I never imagined when I first submitted my work for consideration over 13 years ago.

What strikes me is how ridiculous corporate publishing has become. The big 5 have pandered so much schlock for so long, they don’t even really deserve the title “publishers.” They are merely propagandists working for the leftists and that’s all fine and good for some. I’m a free-speech absolutist, so let them bury themselves into obscurity as indie books continue to rise in sales and popularity. Let them miss out on diversity of thought and all the wonderful conservative and apolitical content out there.

I’m also a fan of free markets, which allow indie publishers to form and get the real work out there. Indie publishing is where the art is. It’s where authors are allowed to take risks and dive into new tropes that have yet to be explored.

But it is an uphill battle, especially for conservatives who have the entire corporate media vilifying them for simply loving their families, their faith, and their freedoms.

I’ve been incredibly lucky/blessed in my career despite being politically vocal against the establishment uniparty cronies. And because I’ve had so many conservative authors reach out to me for help, I’ve decided to start my own small publishing endeavor.

American First Magazine is open for submissions and ready to accept conservative and apolitical short stories, poetry, artwork, and photography.

There are plenty of liberal outlets shoving liberal garbage down everyone’s throats, and that’s their choice, but despite noting publishers like Regnery Publishing, Defiance, and Brave books, there isn’t much out there for short-form conservative content, nor are many outlets seeking apolitical content that just explore life from a balanced standpoint.

I aim to help remedy this.

My work with Me First Magazine really gave me a wide range of publishing perspective before they closed during the pandemic, and even running my co-op’s student publication has strengthened my publishing skills. Plus the 13+ years of professional publishing helps.

American First Magazine aims to become a paying market and we are waiting for approval on Subscribe Star. We will be hosting contests and other events in the future, AND there will be a print edition once we receive enough submissions.

The first few submissions have already been received and we are grateful for that. Please keep them coming! You guys are the best!!

We are just getting started.

I say “we” because my husband (a seasoned artist) is in charge of art submissions and all things artwork. Despite my few professional photography credits and aspirations to expand them, I am also trusting his eye with any photography we will receive as well.
