We got a little break in the heat, and I was missing our bread sculpting, so I asked my son what he wanted to make.
He said: Blobfish bread!
The blobfish craze continues. I think it’s cool that kids love this ugly yet somehow cute weird creature, but there was no way I was making blobfish bread. I made a blobfish cake for my daughter’s 11th birthday party a couple of years ago, and a blobfish pinata so… I’m a bit blobfished out.

I left the blobfish bread for my son. He had fun, and it turned out pretty accurate, I think.
That’s the fun thing about bread sculpting. Everyone can make whatever they want. And I wanted to make hummingbird bread.
Getting the beak thin enough was the key. I thought it looked great BEFORE it went into the oven.
But you never know how it will look once it plumps. My hummingbird came out okay, but I think it turned into a duck. haha
Either way, it tastes great!

A delightful, short, humorous text tells the story of a creative bread-sculpting activity undertaken by a mother and her son. It conveys family warmth, playful creativity, and a relaxed sense of humor, making it clear that the shared experience and fun are more valuable than the perfect aesthetic result.
