My state is 200 today!
There’s free ice cream and plenty of celebrations going on. Best of all I got to personally interview our Governor, Mike Parson.
He’s an alright guy. I like how he’s worked to serve everyone in Missouri. He has kept our state open and free without mask mandates and vaccine passports, but hasn’t stood in the way if individuals choose to mask up or lock themselves down. And THAT is leadership.
Protecting our rights while also reminding people to look out for one another is a tough balancing act. I definitely wouldn’t want his job. And despite a lot of criticism from the left, Parson is far from an uncompromising republican, yet not a RHINO.
He’s just a man holding office, trying to serve his people after years of working hard. That’s not so common for a lot of politicians nowadays.
Gov. Parson was happy to talk to me about all the fun Bicentennial events going on and what it means for our state to reach such a milestone. Read on to get the full scoop (and maybe some free ice cream… if you’re in the area haha)
