Just got back from BRANSON!

I never had a desire to go to Branson when I was younger. Silver Dollar City was the only attraction that got my interest. When I was a kid Dolly Parton would go there and it seemed like a cooler Six Flags, but Branson appealed to older people.

Well, I’m an “older people” now, and after taking the family I feel bad for missing out as a kid. I mean I’ve lived in Missouri for most of my life and it’s only a few hours away. Plus, it’s just gorgeous in Branson. My husband loves The Petersens and has been wanting to check out Branson since he’s from Wisconsin and it’s up his alley, so I got tickets for his birthday and got us a nice place to stay.

There was so much to do we obviously couldn’t do everything. I’m a writer and my husband is an artist so we’re not exactly rich, but we had soooooooo muuuuuuuuch fuuuuuuuun!

The Petersen’s show was awesome. They really have a handle on classic country and know how to offer a great family-friendly show.

They’re coming to St. Louis in December and we are set on going!

The Landing is okay. It has a free fountain show that we kept missing, and a bunch of corporate retailish places–not really my thing, I like the local stuff better, but it was cool.

I took the older kids to a cat cafe called Mochas and Meows, since I’ve never been to one and we love animals. Plus my husband is allergic so it was a nice cat fix haha It was fun to play with all the rescues. They had over 50 adoptable cats just hanging around. I’d never been to a cat cafe and now I know the animals are separate from the food area (which makes sense), and I’m glad I wasn’t there for the food, though we did get some grub.

Everything we did was pretty affordable. And my favorite attraction was the Cakes N Cream Fifties Diner. The food was amazing. It looked like it does in the pictures and was the best diner food I’ve ever had. Best of all, they were playing the classic Dracula movie out back on their drive-in movie screen, which was a free show. I’m always happy to support a place that offers an awesome free show.

My husband and I especially enjoyed swinging the little kids on their porch swing to the scary movie. They love moving around and being outside.

Also, Branson is Trump crazy haha There were at least four Trump stores full of awesome America First pro-Trump gear. We hit them all and really liked the Trump outlet store haha

The last place we hit before heading home was Table Rock Lake. I’ve always heard about it. People always talk about going to Lake of the Ozarks out by us and they usually mean Table Rock. It was so fun. The kids loved it. We got to play in the water and marvel at the lizards and butterflies. It was magical.

I had to poke some fun though.

And now we’re so enchanted by the whole trip that we’re definitely going back again. It would be cool to camp at Table Rock Lake and do more hiking. I never get enough hiking and swimming, and as our youngest gets older we can go a lot further!
