Massie reintroduces bill to eliminate Department of Education

The Department of Education has been failing students for years. They mismanage funds, curriculum, and student relations. When I first started homeschooling I felt that I had no choice because the public school district in my area lost its accreditation and there was no money for private school.

I quickly learned how easily children excel in education when receiving customized lessons from a loving parent. My eldest graduated four years early after aceing her state exam. Her younger siblings are out outpacing their public school peers. Why?

Because it doesn’t take an expert to teach children. Anyone who graduated high school has the power. Especially with all the online resources that are available now. I spend maybe $500 a year on lessons per kid, with better results than public schools–which spend between $10,000 to $20,000 per student each year.

Our tax dollars are being wasted. And people who homeschool or send their children to private school are still footing the bill.

I am 100% behind Thomas Massie’s latest action to terminate the federal Department of Education and redirect education funding to states and families. Read about it in my latest for RSBN:
