This week is all about shifting schedules. My husband and I live in an area with an unaccredited school district and don’t want to go broke paying for private school, so I am homeschooling the kiddos. Which scares the crap out of me. (In the best way possible)
My 5 year old has a 5th grade reading level and is doing 3rd grade math, so I’ve gained some confidence in my teaching abilities over the past couple of years. But it’s not easy. (Nothing ever is)
We do year round, so this week is the girls first week of the new school year. It’s been fun. I run a tight ship. Right now it’s recess after lunch.
A lot of writers seem astounded by how I have time to keep up with everything. It’s not easy. I never really sit still, but I’m not good at sitting still so it works for me.
What works for me probably won’t work many others. But if you really want to make time for something, you’ll find a way.
Even with lessons to teach each day, a house to tend, meals to make, and people to keep up with, writing is always there.
I set aside editing time and writing time. Not both everyday. Some days I’ll edit for an hour or two, and others I’ll write or type up drafts. Reading time was suffering recently. But I’ve been able to make sure I can get in 30 mins before bed each night the past few nights and I intend to keep it up.
Doesn’t leave much time for things a lot of other people do. I don’t watch much tv. Don’t hang out online for more than a few mins at a time. But I pop in on social media all throughout the day and it seems to be fine.
I’m keeping things together for now. haha We’ll see how I feel in a week or two. I don’t know. Life is so living.
So much work! I die after 20 minutes of helping with homework. I consider myself a productive person, but it sounds like you’ve really got it dialed in.
I just have adult ADD haha That’s all it really is 🙂
