I’m currently on my 3rd publisher. I’m still working with my first 2 to sell my children’s book and my erotic paranormal romance, but European Geeks (My current most active publisher) is a small press that I want to grow with. Some publishers take you on, get your book out, and then leave you to do a lot more work than you expected. It’s cool, I’m good at working my tail off. But a writer can only do so much. That’s why I don’t self publish.
Working with European Geeks has been very smooth so far. We’re moving up the potential releases for books 2 and 3 in my Embracing Entropy Series and I have a novel that I’m thinking about sending in once it’s ready.
The difference with this publisher is that the writers are encouraged to support each other in addition to receiving aid with marketing and such. I’m all about teamwork. I can do a lot on my own, but it’s more fun to have others to offer pointers back and forth and share our woes. haha
Today is the release of my colleague Branden Johnson’s book Heaven’s Forgotten. I’m going to the facebook party. If any of you are interested: https://www.facebook.com/events/1653092988305933/
Although those of us at European Geeks/Eleventh Hour are spread out pretty wide, I’m glad to be a part of the fam and I’m always up to shout out my fellow authors. We go through a lot of the same shit. It’s nice that we can kind of lean on each other if we need to.
